Gerald "Jerry" Butterton was born September 26,1940 in Leavenworth, WA to Floyd and Edith Butterton and passed away on September 29, 2023. He graduated from Rainier High School in 1959 and was in the National Guard from '64-'70 and was Honorably Discharged. 

 

When he was young his favorite things were driving tanks and racing cars with his brother, Don. He worked for Weyerhaeuser for a couple years before finding his career at Continental Can and retired after xxxx years in 2000. After retirement he spent his time fishing, boating, and camping at Riffe Lake. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, going to the sand dunes, beach trips, and spending time with family. 

 

Jerry married Sharon Hamilton December 7, 1972 for 30 years. She preceded him in death on September 28, 2002. Jerry found new love when he met Barbara Thomas in 2008 and they enjoyed their life together with family in Tenino, WA. 

 

Jerry is survived by his sister, Helen Snider, brothers Ben and David R. Butterton, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Don and Larry Butterton.

Saturday, Oct 7 will be a graveside service at Forest Grove Cemetery at 10:00 am. 18011 Northcraft Rd SE, Tenino, WA 98589
